In Early American days before kerosene, camphene lamps provided light and fragrance. Camphene is an explosive mixture of turpentine and alcohol, with camphor oil added for fragrance. The burner design keeps the flame away from the fuel container. We recommend using today's lamp oil, which will burn much more safely!
Perfect for rustic Early American decor, outdoor lighting, re-enactors and theater props.
