This Father Christmas wears a deep evergreen coat painted with little winter cottages, snow-covered branches and flashes of cardinal red. A glittering gold border traces his long robe, while a richly coloured fir is tied with scarlet ribbon. The softly painted face and snowy base give him the presence of a Christmas figure kept and brought out year after year. An Ino Schaller collectable from the German Christmas tradition, particularly handsome among antique ornaments and dark winter greenery since 1894.
Approximately 23cm.
